1916 Holton Revelation Cornet in Lacquer

Here's a vintage cornet with a cool design, the 1916 Holton Revelation cornet! This horn has some signs of use (it's over 100 years old!) but it's in good condition for its age. It's incredible to think of all the history this horn has lived through. The leadpipe is a little bent, there's some lacquer wear, pitting, and small dings around the instrument, and some repair work has been done on the bell and the first bend between the leadpipe and the tuning slides. All of the valves and slides move smoothly and freely. Compression is great through the leadpipe and tuning slide, but the valves have significant compression loss and will require a rebuild to get the horn back into playing condition. These are very old valves with copper plate. Check out the photos to see the condition of the instrument!
