Love Alnico tone but need more power? The 80s Shred has all of the clarity and balance you want, but with the output to drive your amp hard.

More than just high outputThe players of the 1980s needed a powerful pickup that also had the clarity to showcase their lightning fast playing. Some high output pickups sacrifice tone for power, resulting in a harsh, brittle sound. Once the high output design was modded with a traditional Alnico 5 magnet, it was the perfect combination of rich tone and amp punishing power.

The 80s Shred's 12 hex socket pole pieces are adjustable, giving you precise control over the volume of each string. The Alnico 5 magnet produces a clear tone with more pronounced highs and a tighter low end. It's the ideal balance for beautiful clean tones and overdriven sounds that don't get muddy. The versatile 4-conductor wiring allows for split and out of phase tones as well.

Originally designed for the bridge position, you can also use it in the neck if you're using a high-headroom amp.
