Up for sale is this vintage 1954 Gibson Century lap steel guitar. This is a very nice example of this model, one that generally exhibits heavy wear and finish flaking. In the world of 1950's Gibson lap steels, this one is a shining example.

This instrument is all original with the exception of the two control plate screws. The original knobs, tuners, and jack plate (although it does show a few small cracks) are all still present and intact. The original blue finish is in very nice condition, showing none of the common flaking issues that we generally see on these. There is wear, however, and we have tried our best to capture that in the photos, so please be sure to check them out. The original bridge and pickup cover is present as well and is in very nice condition.

We have just popped this one open and sprayed out the electronics and we're happy to report that everything inside is untouched and in perfect working condition.

The original Lifton hardshell case is included and is in nice condition as well, although it does show wear and scuffs from protecting the instrument over the decades. All of the latches and hinges are there and in perfect working order.

If you're looking for one of these, you'd be hard-pressed to find a nicer example. While it's not mint, it's far from average and we have no doubt that this one is going to make the new owner very, very happy...
