Time Machine
I have an excellent mid '60s Epiphone Comet EA-32 RVT 1x10” combo amplifier in crisp playing condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hand wired two-button footswitch.. Sometimes "referred to as the “poor man’s Princeton Reverb," the Comet offers a similar feature set and size as its Fender brethren, yet has a distinctive tonal character all its own". True that.
A single channel, three-input design, the Comet pushes 12.5 watts through a 10" ceramic magnet CTS speaker. "At low volumes, the amp is warm and articulate, with a snappy, percussive cut in the low end, and ample sparkling sweetness on top. When cranked, it has a lovely growl and creamy breakup. The footswitchable Reverb has a long two-spring tank with good splash and dimension, and the Tremolo has a smooth pulse." Crispy clean sound and an awesome platform for pedals.
Stock CTS ceramic magnet 10” speaker.
Cosmetically clean with some faint indications of use, the amp features its original smooth gray tolex, wheat grill cloth with subtle sparkle in the thread, and a nice faceplate with bold graphics... a couple of light scratches and a ding from being pulled from the cabinet for servicing some years ago, the gray witch hat knobs, one of which has a couple of small chips. Some faint scuffs and a very few scratches, one ding on the faceplate. Nowhere near as perfect cosmetically as another listing here on Reverb. However a real Time Machine if you want to get your Paul Revere and the Raiders on.
This amp was thoroughly freshened up by Robert Campbell Hunter of Hunter Amplifiers fame in Keno. His amps are carried at Cumberland Guitars.
