Matched pair of UTC P-2 input transformers with original box and inserts.
These units are the identical transformer as found in the UTC O-2 and O-1 (the O-2 has the extra feature of an added center-tap on the secondary for use as a balanced output if desired) except it is mounted on an octal base.
The UTC O-1 / O-2 transformers were used by Bill Putnam in the original UREI / Universal Audio 610 console used to record countless hits in the 60's including the Beach Boys' Pet Sounds. They were also used as the input transformer for the UA 176/175 and many other original UREI tube equipment.
This transformer can also be used as an audiophile-quality MC phono step up transformer.
The transformers have been tested (see photos) and selected as a "matched pair" for closest output, frequency response, DC resistance and lowest noise.
