Up for sale is this vintage circa 1973 Gibson J-40 factory left-handed acoustic guitar project. This instrument is pretty typical of Gibson acoustics from this era in the sense of it's truly going to need all of the work, so please read the entire description and see all of the photos.

Cosmetically, this one is in fair condition. There's a lot of play wear and the original finish shows heavy wear. The binding is BADLY rotting which is typical of these (pictured). The original tuners were replaced with Grover keys at some point.

Structurally, there are unrepaired cracks, the top is wavy and there are bracing issues, and it's in need of a neck set. The truss rod functions, but there is a twist in the neck. At the end of the day, again, just assume that this one needs everything.

Sold "AS IS" and "AS FOUND". An inexpensive gig bag is included and it will be well-packed to ensure safe shipping.

Overall, a basket case that will make a fun project for a good repairman or someone who is just wanting to learn to undertake these big repairs...
