Univox U65RN Guitar Instrument Amplifier - Black
I had this "LOCAL PICKUP ONLY" but because of questions I added shipping. That should deter some questions. And NO RETURNS IF SHIPPED
This is cool but has some issues. I'd rather not ship and don't think it's worth it hence was listed Local Pickup Only but out of an abundance of questions shipping was added. Oh, no return if shipped.
I don't know the date on this, but if I had to guess I'd say 80s. I read that Roland bought Univox in 1985 essentially ending the line. Keep in mind this is online info and may not be perfect.
I HAVE ADDED A VIDEO and this should tell you as much as anything about the amp. Below is verbal description I had up before the video....
This amp is really only practical when using it with the Reverb and Clipping (see photo 7) knobs down, in my opinion. The reverb tank (or it's digital I think inside chassis) is not working. I tried switches in the back for turning on and off (see photo 8) but to no avail. The clipping works. It give a wild funky type of distortion. And the if you turn the reverb knob all the way up, no reverb but it make the clipping even more crazy sounding, almost fuzz with a digital edge kinda thing. Heck with the clipping turned up all the way, and nothing plugged into the amp, you can turn the volume up and get really wild sounding squealing tones. Something is not right, and as stated, you can sorta use it normal if reverb and clipping are not used for a basic clean sound. Speaker I don't know if original. It is marked SLM. St. Louis Music? I don't know. See the photo.
3 inputs, and for the most part I think they are the same except clipping, with no footswitch attached, is Louder on channel 1 input, than on channel 2 & 3 input. A footswitch will control the clipping on and off. So for all 3 channels, a footswitch will turn clipping on and off when the clipping knob is turned up.
Reverb just doesn't work BUT! you put a footswitch on the reverb switch area on back of amp and click between on/off with reverb knob turned all the way up, thru input channel 1 it basically does nothing, thru input 2 it give the distortion like the clipping knob but then channel 3 even more intense. So somehow the reverb knob when switched on will have basically nothing channel 1, funky distortion channel 2, and wild intense louder distortion thru channel 3. SOMETHING IS WHACK HERE.
Remember if shipped NO RETURNS.
OH, and if you want to arrange your own shipping, this is UNBOXED approximately 22x8.5x17
Thanks for looking.
