After the mid-90s, Peavey moved production overseas. Some people assert the first wave of Raptors was made in Japan, but it was most likely Korea. This Peavey Raptor I - International Series guitar has a fantastic neck -- like a Japanese Fender Strat's but smoother. The body comfort-contours are increased, so the body almost disappears when you're wearing it. This makes the body look a little smaller, but it still has plenty of heft and resonance.
This sleek beauty is in fantastic playing shape with a bold Strat sound. I normally hate white pickguards with a passion, but this one works. I looked at replacing it, but the contrast between the aged white body finish and the bright white of the pickguard and electronics makes this guitar stand out.
