Squier by Fender Paranormal Cyclone, with upgrades and complete Luthier/ Guitar Tech Setup
Please read the entire description for Comprehensive information of the instrument's qualities, specifications, and setup.
This instrument has been given the deluxe treatment for this sale. From a clean, non-smoking, no-pet musician's studio. Never gigged or out of the house/ studio. Some upgrades and a new gig bag are included. This offering includes some noteworthy enhancements, such as a gold Pure Tone Jack (additional information below), a nice Pearloid back plate, Kluson 18:1 Tuners, and a complete comprehensive setup.
I performed a complete fret leveling and crowning, achieving a remarkable precision of less than 1/1000th of an inch tolerance from fret to fret, with a subtle fall-away from the 17th fret for exceptional action. I applied my signature multi-stage True Mirror Finish Fret Polishing, ensuring a smooth and clear playing surface. The fingerboard has been revitalized, deeply conditioned, and hydrated. This guitar plays like a dream and sounds remarkable as well. Something very different, yet so familiar.
Stringing Schedule: Brand New Ernie Ball gauges: 9.5, 12, 16, 24, 34, 44. The Rationale for bringing the string tension up a bit from the stock set 9-42 gauge is that on a 24.75" scale length, for this instrument, it sounded a bit thin. At shorter string lengths, such as this instrument, a 9.5-44 set feels much like a 9-42 set under your fingers.
Total String Tension: 93.5 lbs.
Nut Slot Height/ Depth at first fret: (well below spec for optimal playability with absolutely no buzzing) Treble to Bass: 1. 0.014.5 2. 0.014.5 3. 0.014.5 4. 0.012 5. 0.012 6. 0.013
Action at 12th fret with capo on first fret: (Perfect Spec) Treble to bass: 1. 4/64th" 2. 4/64th" 3. 5/64th" 4. 5.5/64th" 5. 6/64th" 6. 7/64th"
Intonation: Strings 1-5 Perfect at the 12th fret, low E string +3cents (par for the course for the low E)
Bridge: Set to the radius of the neck.
Neck Relief: 0.008
Frets Leveled: to less than 1/1000th of an inch tolerance from fret to fret, with a subtle fall-away from the 17th fret
Frets Crowned: Crowning to a perfect semi-cylindrical shape.
Frets Polished: Multi-stage fret sanding and polishing to a True Mirror Finish.
Fret Ends: Dressed, no fret sprout.
Fingerboard: Revitalized, Deeply conditioned and hydrated. You know how Indian Laurel can often look ashen, grayish, and dull, you won't find that with this instrument. Please look closely at the pics of the fingerboard.
Tremolo: floated to Fender Specs at 1/8"
Pickup Heights: Optimized for best tone.
Neck: T side = 5/32" B side = 3/16"
Middle: T side = 1/8" B side = 7/32"
Bridge: T side = 5/32" B side = 7/32"
Output Jack: Upgraded Gold Pure Tone (please see the last photo) A preposterous cost-cutting measure that even higher-end electric guitars suffer. An upgraded jack provides a more robust and better quality signal.
Pickups: Fender Designed Alnico
Pickup Resistance: Neck: 5.54kΩ Middle: 5.89kΩ Bridge: 6.18kΩ
