Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.

You are looking at a unique Astatic model D-104 crystal microphone from the 1960's that comes with a period Astatic F-11 adapter & cable in which to operate. It should be noted that this microphone works excellent with an original strong working high impedance crystal element.

Pic # 2 is from my 1945 microphone catalog and shows the D-104's specs and cost. This is a slightly newer model of course but the design was basically the same over the past 80 years as were the sound characteristics.

The D-104 was manufactured by Astatic in Conneaut, Ohio and was to be used as a public address mic as it's non-directional. It was a very popular design for this company and they continued to make the D-104 for many decades retaining the same overall style but this was a D-104 with the later model glued on aluminum badge. This later version has the resin applied aluminum badge. A very cool piece in very nice cosmetic condition that would be excellent for display or actual use purposes.

Again, the mic works very well. I would rate the signal strength around 90 to 100%. You can easily use this for any purpose that you would use a crystal mic with.

The polished chrome body has extremely lite scratches. I would rate the cosmetic condition a very conservative 9 out of 1 - 10. The Astatic badge is completely legible as well and there are no odors, dents or tarnish on the front screen.

The mic comes with an F-11 adapter that is wired correctly and comes with a very nice 5 1/2 foot cable that is soft, pliable and free of damage. Very clean and has a quality male Switchcraft 1/4 inch end connector. This mic is ready to go.

The F-11 is just as nice as the mic and it will screw onto any desk or floor stand you're using.

MICROPHONE STAND SHOWN IS NOT INCLUDED...USED FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY.

As with all my vintage microphones for sale...

I can promise you will be happy with it for the price paid. If not...I have a no hassle return policy. The return shipping will be on you as I believe that's fair but the purchase price would be refunded. Simply return in the same nice condition...period. Check my rating.
