Overview

Part of the D-Line Series of speakers from RCF, the HDM 45-A is a professional portable active speaker that delivers clear, nuanced sound at both high and low volume settings, at levels up to 133 SPL. The speaker features a wide frequency range, low distortion, and a fast transient response—providing detailed audio reproduction for events, performances, and meetings. With a design derived from the touring industry, it is well suited to withstand the rigors of live sound reinforcement or rentals applications in clubs, corporate spaces, houses of worship, mobile DJ setups, and more.

The HDM 45-A is equipped with a 2200W peak, Class-D digital amplifier, which drives 1600W into the 15" woofer and 600W into the 1.5" titanium compression driver. The crossover is set at 650 Hz. The speaker delivers a frequency response of 45 Hz to 20 kHz and wide, 90°H x 60°V coverage angles. The integrated DSP manages the loudspeaker processing, including crossover and EQ and the soft limiter. Phase and amplitude are corrected using proprietary FiRPHASE technology engineered to deliver a natural and transparent sound with a balanced stereo image.

Easy to operate, the HDM 45-A comes with comes with a balanced XLR input for connecting a microphone, mixer, or audio device, along with an XLR output for speaker daisy chaining. Two powerCon connectors allow for power input and power daisy chaining to another speaker. In addition, two etherCON connectors support the RDNet protocol for speaker networking and remote control over system parameters via a Windows computer. On the speaker, a system setup encoder dial gives you control over volume and delay, and also allows you to dial up one of the 8 preset EQ settings. The local button toggles the speaker between these local settings and RDNet settings from the network.

The cabinet is molded with rugged polypropylene composite material (PP), and designed to dampen vibrations, even at maximum volume settings. The speaker weighs 48.5 lbs and features heavy-duty, indented top and side handles for easier transport. The versatile HDM 45-A can be mounted on a stand or a subwoofer pole, or positioned on its side to serve as a wedge monitor.
