Very fun and rare instrument! Great for bass players and collectors. Perfect condition, I just don't use it enough. Message me with any questions!
From the official website:
In 1993, when Maywa Denki held its first live concert using electric instruments, there were only electric percussion instruments and "Guitar-la" played by Mr. Wono, the accountant, but no low tone instruments such as basses. Since this was not an ensemble, the chairperson of Maywa Denki made the GumBass for the second live performance. Generally, instruments which produce bass sound are larger in size, but the GumBass could be made smaller by using rubber. This type of GumBass has a built-in amp and speaker. Its pickup is designed to produce a pleasant distorted sound by adding a mechanism similar to the "sawari" of a shamisen.
