Overview

Custom channel-switching version, with Ch.1 = JTM45 (full, fat tone) / Ch.2 = Plexi (standard Constable voicing, which is leaner and more aggressive than JTM).

The Constable JTM45/Plexi is a dual 12AX7 channel switching preamplifier modeled on the classic JTM45 British Plexi Marshall and the late ‘60s Super Lead Plexi variation of this circuit.
It is designed to be run directly into a power amplifier or effects loop return, but may also be used in front of a regular guitar amplifier or another preamplifier.

Red light = JTM45 channel. VoI1 and Master A are active.
Red + Green lights = Plexi channel. VoI2 and Master B are active.

The right knob on the rear of the chassis globally controls the overall gain and low end response of the circuit.
The right footswitch toggles the pedal on/off, while the left toggles between the JTM and Plexi sides.
The EQ is shared between the two sides.

Here is the way it works:
- Vol 1 and Master A are for the JTM45 channel;
- Vol 2 and Master B are for the Plexi channel;
- The un-labeled pot on the back right of the pedal is the JTM45 blend pot;
- The "Output" switch works just the same as on the regular Constable:
• to the left = attenuated/front of amp;
• middle = attenuated preamp mode;
• right = un-attenuated preamp mode.

The full feature set of a JTM45 or late ‘60s Plexi is provided, with the Treble, Middle, and Bass controls being shared for both channels.
The JTM45 side and Plexi sides then also have separate Bright Volumes, as well as individual Master Volumes.
In addition there is a JTM45 blend pot on the back right of the pedal (un-labeled), that allows you to blend in some of the JTM45 channel while playing the Plexi channel.
Additional features include a global “Output” switch for selecting front of amp (FOA) use, attenuated output preamp use and full preamp output, as well as a global 3-way Bright switch.
