Silvertone 1457 1964 - 1967 - Burst
This is the best example of a 1457 Danelectro made Silvertone that was for sale at Sears in the early 60's I've ever seen.. "Student Model" I wouldn’t call it that!!! Made at the Danelectro factory in Neptune New Jersey. I've had 3 of these. and this is the best. The tremolo tube amp in the case sounds totally amazing and its all in perfect working order.. I actually used this amp a lot in my studio with other guitars as well for its sound.. Usually put a U-87 in front of it and it is perfection!
This guitar is sparkly, full, trembling and warm! Seriously! Plays so well too! The only reason I'm selling it is because I bought my dream guitar over my budget and need to justify that...
The case shows ware for its age but it still holds together and the amp in it is out of this wold great in my opinion.. This one has the original and working foot switch for the tremolo which is pretty rare...
The guitar is feather light as a hollow body should be. The neck is perfectly strait with great action.. The case is obviously heavy as hell as a tube amp and Masonite would be.. So I'm asking $200. for shipping to pack it up and get it to you safe...
Of course local pick up is preferred.. I'm back and forth Between Brooklyn NY and Belmar NJ...
So Fun fact: I just found out that the flake in the paint comes from the droppings on the floor from the aluminum nut in the New Jersey factory. I'm not sure if that's true or not but what a cool story.. I do know that the flake looks amazing and the nut is aluminum and super cool.. Greatest neck on this one in my opinion.....
