Here's a cool one!
Mid-1960s Welt Record Zither
Likely produced in Eastern Europe, this zither (or lap harp, among other names) has over 40 strings and tuning pegs. Previous owner believed that it was built in 1965. The tuning instrument is included with the zither. There are a few evident vertical cracks (see photos), but the density of this wood and amount of tension from strings seem to have kept the separations from worsening. Aside from other expected cosmetic checking over almost 50 years, the instrument is quite playable and has an uniquely impressive sound. It's always enjoyable to have a few world folk instruments around!
This instrument does not come with a case. Sold As-Is. I will wrap, and heavily pad, the instrument and packaging if/when it is shipped.
