The 1215 has sold, and this fine looking 505 is now the player in this system. Completely restored and doing everything it was supposed to do... Ultra low mass tone arm, And the rocking orthophone cartage and stylus. The plant is wouldn't vintage and has been refinished. It looks awesome and the does cover has been hinged and also looks amazing. This one has two speeds and has auto lifting feature at the end of the record. Wow and flutter are very respectable.
I have over one hundred separate systems like this or better! I'm doing nothing but making these systems and restoring as needed as I go before christmas. If you have a need for one or part of one of these, As well as anything else that is vitage in hard to find such as working cassette recorders., Working reel to reel, Stuff on the high end, Tube based systems .... Let me know well in advance. I'll be very busy making these happen already. This is the one that I take in the time to present with a video and everything. A Dual 1215s, I believe.
You will notice a small amount of wow/flutter on the turntable because it was not level. This won't be an issue if the platter is level. Or if it's actually balanced, Which is also easily done, and i will do that before sending out... But inspected with a wow/flutter meter, it was actually performing very nicely on a level surface at perfect 33.3 RPM speed, W/F was down to about +/- .2 RPM while playing an LP.
The rocket 6 speakers were brought into me a while back and while the amps were not good in them. I was able to salvage the speakers and removed the hardware from inside. Making them lighter and still sounding awesome. And they look nice! I think in a few years you will probably see most of these performing perfectly well without their internal amplifiers, which by my estimation are junk! They are both powered by a JVC receiver that I just restored this evening with a new power module.
Because i've just lucked into some more incredible gear. Around here and the saint louis area, Everybody knows me as the tech that takes care of the old stuff... Because the new stuff isn't worth it! Lol. I fix everything for the professional musicians and then, as well as the home audio enthusiasts.... Thanks for looking and have a merry christmas! Or happy solstice to all the Neo-pagans! See you all soon!
