Here is a very hard to source square AFRICAN TUNABLE FRAME DRUM TAMALIN Made in GHANA
The drum measures approximately 16"x16"x3.5". The head surface is approximately 15-3/4" x 15-3/4". This drum weighs approximately 4 pounds and 7 ounces. No beater comes with this drum.

The final photo shows the drum with all of the tuning wedges out (completely removed from the frame) and the head at its lowest tension.

I purchased this drum in Africa while there for a professional drumming and dance international summer symposium run by perhaps the world's foremost authority on African drumming, Dr. Paschal Yao Younge. Dr. Younge, a Ghanaian by birth, has the best artisan drum makers of this region in Africa build and offer their instruments for sale at this summer program. I purchased this drum there and had it shipped home to the USA.
This drum has a floating frame which allows the drum to be tuned using it's four (4) triangular wood wedges included with this purchase. This drum is hand built from what appears to be solid Mahogany wood frames and tuning wedges and has a goat skin head shaved smooth except for aesthetically pleasing hair left on the edges (see photos).
One corner of the head has split away from the corner edge by 3/16" (see photo). It has been playable in this condition for several years without worsening and with no noticeable sound issues when the drum is properly tuned. Like all skin heads, this head will eventually need replacement, but with careful head management, not anytime soon. 

The head has a light coating of surfboard wax on its playing surface to facilitate pitch bending.
