Pristine OB8 from 1984.

  • Brand new Fatar TP/9S semi-weighted synth action keyboard/keybed.
  • Factory MIDI.
  • All presets and page 2 functions.
  • Cleaned and serviced.
  • Lithium battery replaced and memory bank chips upgraded (Synthchaser).
  • Light wood panels.
  • Includes original manual.

For me, the charm of the OB8 is the ability to stereo pan individual voices, split/ binaural mode, and the choir like ensemble effect of 8 different analog voice cards, each customizable with three trim pots (pitch, filter, envelope). This OB8 has factory MIDI (not a retrofit), which is rare from what I have seen. I also own the newer OBX8, and while both have their charms, the OBX8 does not function like an OB8.

  • Both functionally and cosmetically in Excellent condition.
  • You're welcome to come play it and have a look.
  • I would greatly prefer local-pickup. I've spent a lot of time restoring and calibrating this synth. I would like to share those insights with the next owner. I live just outside of NYC. If you live in the northeast, I might be able to deliver it.
