Top plate binding is missing. Everything else on the guitar is 100% structurally sound and all original. My uncle is a renowned luthier. Joseph Jesselli. He worked closely with James D’Aquisto. He began his own brand after his apprenticeship for many years. He told me years ago NOT to replace the binding. Keeping it as original as possible is the best way to go. Manufactured in the original Hoboken NJ plant in mid 1959.
The year is definitely 1959. The serial number lookup says the last serial number produced in 1959 was “12035”. This one is numbered “11953” on headstock and sticker inside the F-hole.
Pretty sure I have the original case as well (a little beat up, but that’s to be expected).
The guitar is a beauty. It’s as old as me, and in much better condition.. lol!
