For your consideration is this 1965 Fender Vibro Champ Amp in very good condition.  I believe this amp to be a transitional amp from late 1964 into early 1965 based on the logo-less grill cloth and electronic componentry in the amp dating to late '64 and the FEIC name on both the faceplate and the back chassis sticker. I acquired this amp 11 years ago this past September from the son of the original owner who used it as a teen in the 60's and until I purchased in 2012 it was used by the son mostly for home enjoyment. I am now offering this superb Vibro Champ Amp to you for your collection or for your enjoyment.

Here are a few of the important cosmetic and electronic specifics on this quality Fender Vibro Champ Amp:

1) Black faceplate marked Fender Electric Instruments Co., that is in good vintage condition with multiple noticeable blemishes.  The amp exhibits the standard wheat grill cloth with its gold-like sparkle throughout.  It's as tight-as-a-drum and has a very attractive vintage patina to it.  It is a logo-less grill and the baffle and grill cloth have no holes present where the standard "tailed" Fender logo of 1965 would have been attached. It sports the silver-insert witch-hat control knobs to 10 with slotted set screws at 10 and the patented red jewel lamp fixture.  Although the tube chart is missing, the circuit topography of this amp is Fender's AA764 version.

2) Component codes: Power tranny - 606-5-14; Output tranny - 606-5-13; Astron Cap canister - Unable to identify a date code; 8" Oxford blue-label speaker - VF1865.

3) Other: Amp's serial number - A 04239 and chassis code stamping TJ1465.  The 5Y3 rectifier tube and the 6V6 power tubes appear to be the original RCA branded components and the two 12AX7 preamp tubes are a matching set of General Electric branded components from the last week of 1964 (red silkscreen code 6459). The original two-prong power cord was replaced with the modern three-prong variety and the death cap was also removed. All potentiometers are original to the amp and all solder joints are unmolested.

To preserve the originality, integrity and value of the 58 year old stock Oxford speaker if continuous high volume use is expected, I would suggest removing the original (saving the original, of course) and using a higher wattage modern 8" speaker - the amp will breathe fire with this conversion and you will still have the original if you and the amp ever decide to part ways.

One other very important final thought: I run all of my vintage amplifiers using a variac set to 117 volts which is the voltage level they were designed to use to function properly. The circuit of this 58 year old amplifier is all-original and the sound it produces is glorious so be cautious when using a voltage supply greater than 117 volts.

This amplifier will be packed for a safe journey and arrival to its destination and new home. The tubes will be pulled and individually wrapped as well. It will also be fully insured to avoid any/all accidental or intentional mishandling issues by the shipper. Any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to ask.

Thank you for taking time to look at this fine 1965 Fender Vibro Champ Amp and good luck.
