Mosrite
VIII
1984
USA
The Mosrite VIII was a limited batch, just a handful that were handmade by Semie Mosley back in 1984. These guitars are rare and seldom seen.
They’re even signed by Semie on the back of the headstock, where it says: Mosrite For Ever Semie Mosley 1984
The VIII is based on the classic Mosrite Ventures model but with a more modern and sleek look, without a pickguard and some beautiful design features. It has a basswood body with a gorgeous “German carve” topped off with a striking Red burst/ Sunburst.
The neck is made of flamed rock maple with a beautiful rosewood/ maple/ Rosewood fretboard with brass dots. The neck feels fantastic, it’s really thin and plays super easy.
Even the back plates are made out of hand shaped flame maple.
The three pickups are Mosrites own single coils with individual on/off-switches and a master Volume knob.
The vibrato is very responsive and requires just a light touch and doesn’t go out of tune.
Paired perfectly with the roller bridge saddles.
The guitar was bought on site at Jonas Ridge NC, back in the 80’s by a former owner and has since basically resided in its case in Sweden. So the guitar is in fantastic condition, it’s hardly been played at all. You have some beautiful checkings in the finish, otherwise you would’ve thought it was new. Comes with the original hardcase.
Weight: 3.67kg
