About This Listing

Today, Lawman Guitars is Presenting...

A 1946 Melody Ranch Gene Autry Cowboy Guitar with the Original Canvas Soft Shell Case . Wow...

This is not the same Gene Autry we sold a couple months ago. Yes, we found another!! We love Cowboy Guitars at Lawman Guitars! Our cool customers do as well!!

OK Guys. Remember these? I can remember asking Santa for one of these back in the day. What did I get? Socks!! LOL... You can have one for Christmas this year. Grab this beauty!!

What we have here is a great relic that is still very playable today. Most of these Melody Ranch Guitars have been beaten up and have so many missing parts, that if you can find one, it probably isn’t playable.

These guitars were made from 1941 to 1955... There is a date stamp inside this one but its unreadable. I am calling it my birth year of 1952...Just because I can...LOL..

This Melody Ranch Gene Autry Guitar is in great shape. Most of the bridges on these have cracked over the years and this one was no exception. When we got it, it already had the broken bridge replace. They did a great job. It is a little lower to allow better action on the guitar. Its nice and secure to the body. No separtion at the back of it. See pic 5. These guitars were made by the Harmony Company of Chicago, IL and they were sold by Sears and Roebuck mostly in their catalogs. A very rare guitar that is infinitely playable.

I got this one with the original Waverly Open Back Tuners, wood nut and frets. What a time capsule. The original wood nut is still with it but our Tech had to use some super glue to raise the strings a little. It may need a new nut some day but its stable now... This guitar even has the original Soft Shell case ... Check out those pics! Those tuners are amazing...see pic 8.

This guitar plays with very nice easy to play action so it is not a wall hanger. . I have two of these which are on the wall of my showroom. I have been collecting Cowboy Guitars for a long time now and have many. This one needs to be played again.

The were no cracks that needed repaired on this one...This little guitar is very very stable.

Its a Parlor guitar. It is 13 3/4 inches at the lower bout and 36 inches long. There is also a half size one like this. This one is considered the full size. It has a 24 inch scale neck, the nut measures 1 3/4 inches and the neck has a nice round C profile. The original frets are in great shape. As you can see, it has very few dings and scratches but nothing but player wear. A great Showpiece or player that will get a lot of looks. Any vintage guitar collector would love to have this one in their collection....See pics

Check out that Original Case. These are getting very hard to find. It has all the snow show latch and even the original leather handle. Those are always missing.. A great case for this awesome historic guitar.

Its really cool but used and vintage so it is sold as-is no returns. Thanks for respecting that.
