It’s weird, it’s wonderful, it’s Wildwood: this 1967 Fender Coronado Bass II is an oddity you certainly don’t see very often! This finish is often called “Wildwood Orange,” but Fender called this option Wildwood III – Rainbow Golds in their Catalog. Fender created these Wildwood designs by injecting living Beech trees with dye, physically coloring the tree from the inside before harvesting. This execution makes Wildwood so cool, as each guitar differs from the next due to the grain pattern and the way the dye took to the wood. With age, this particular finish has become smokey, taking on an amber look. The design of these basses is unique, featuring an adjustable bridge, two adjustable pickups, and that distinctive “F” branded leather tailpiece. The grain of the body is so beautifully book-matched; together with this bound and blocked neck and matching Wildwood headstock, the whole bass looks so insanely cool! A couple of the pickup screws have been changed, and at one point, a strap button was added to and removed from the bass horn, leaving behind a hole.

Overall Condition: 7, smokey, and played in for sure!
