So without getting too confusing, this is a 1979 Ampeg V-4 guitar amp head installed into an Ampeg VT-22 combo cabinet from around the same time period. The V-4 was never made into a combo amp, but however the VT-22 was and is essentially a V-4 combo amp, as far as the specs are concerned. Thanks to some handy dandy aftermarket re-configuring, here is an actual V-4 2 x 12" combo amp. This combo is equipped with two 12" Eminence square-back speakers and the V-4 amp gives you two channels, distortion, a 3-band EQ with boost and cut switches, and reverb. This amp has four J/J 7024 A power tubes, three J/J ECC832 preamp tubes, one Bugera 12AX7A preamp tube, one GE(?) 6AN8A tube, and one EHX 6CG7 reverb driver tube currently installed. Made popular by the Rolling Stones in the '70s and revitalized in the late '90s and early 2000s by Josh Homme of Queens Of The Stone Age, the V-4 is known for loud playing and for helping build up your muscle tone as you carry this 88-pound combo from rehearsal to studio to gig and back again!
