Roland CR-78 - An industry standard and legend.
What it is:A collection of samples, plus an Ableton Live project, from the drum machine that changed music.
How we use it:
Any and all CR-78 needs.
Why it’s cool:
Variations of each sound make for a completely customizable kit.Roland CR-78 CompuRhythm (1978)
The first microprocessor-based programmable rhythm machine, with with four memory storage for user patterns, this was the end result of Roland’s CR Series of rhythm machines. Digital control over the analog drum voices is a major feature that sets this box apart from its peers.
The CR-68 CompuRhythm lacks many of the better features found on a CR-78, including the innovative ability to program the rhythm box. Of the same family as the Roland CR-5000, and Roland CR-8000, the CR-78 CompuRhythm was famously used by many artists of the 70s and 80, including Blondie and Phil Collins.
