Hamer Steve Stevens Signature Model - 1984 - Red Metallic

Up for sale we have a very early low serial # 1984 Hamer Steve Stevens Signature Model in original Red Metallic finish with original Hamer branded hardshell case. A fantastic playing instrument with superb tone, slim neck and extremely stable tuning with its Floyd Rose Vibrato system. This early model shares most of the later production run features but lacks the Steve Stevenson signature on the headstock and has different style switches. The guitar is in good overall condition showing a moderate/heavy amount of cosmetic wear with dings, dents, scuffs and scratches throughout the instrument as well as areas of discoloration and finish worn through to wood (area between the neck and middle pickups on the treble side). The guitar is structurally solid with no cracks or breaks. We aren't 100% sure about the strap buttons, none of them match and it seems the positions of the strap buttons changed over the years. It's likely that one of the three buttons on this guitar were added and some or all perhaps replaced at some time. There was some kind of switch added in its life next to the pickup selector switch, that mod has been reversed and the hole has been dowelled. The Steve Stevenson model features a 24 3/4" scale length, solid Mahogany body, Mahogany neck, 22-fret Rosewood fretboard with pearl dot inlaid fret markers, HSS pickup configuration, equipped with it's original set of Hamer single coils and humbucker with master volume and master tone controls, 3-way pickup selector switch, coil split switch, Floyd Rose vibrato system with locking nut, Hamer tuners. Missing trem cavity cover. The slim neck features a fast D-shape profile measuring .83" deep at the first fret and .86" deep at the twelfth fret. Width at the nut measures 1 5/8". The original medium jumbo frets are present and show only light play wear, tons of life left. The neck is straight and the truss rod is accessible at the head stock. It turns smoothly in both directions and functions as it should. Set-up with 9-42 round wound strings and low action. The guitar weighs in at 8 lbs. 2 oz.
