For sale, a German-copy Francesco Ruggieri detto il per Cremona 1675 full-size (4/4) violin with a new bow. We believe based on research that this was made by Karl Hofner based on certain physical detailing like the inlays seen on the tailpiece/pegs, but we cannot say this with 100% certainty. The violin itself is in very good shape, and is made of wood with a gorgeous-looking grain. It's got a crisp, clear tone, with an underlying warmth and resonance. There are some cosmetic blemishes as can be seen in the photos; in one area it looks like there is some residue, but other than these little blems the instrument is in great shape - no cracks or warping.
