Alice Stancoil Ted Fletcher Itam 10/4 vintage analogue studio mixer

*Size is around 65cm square, thanks to the person who just asked, forgot to add that!*

Incredible late 60's / early 70's Ted Fletcher designed mixing desk, one of only 10 bespoke built at Alice Stancoil for the short-lived Itam Barry Lambdon pro audio company in London, sort of an evolution of the 828 with significant extra bells and whistles. Lovely EQ and classic '10 into 4' set-up, with 4 nice VU meters on a raised bridge plus short throw faders, and each channel has a mic pre. But what really sets this desk apart are the 4 Ted Fletcher limiters, which are apparently the forerunner of the design still used in his 500 series and rackmount devices. Chassis is all steel so built like a tank, compact enough for a modern set-up, but big enough to inspire awe and confidence.

The sonic richness that this desk imparts has to be heard to be appreciated. Quite a few marks, scrapes and dings, it has lived a life, but looks pretty good for 50 years-ish. . It's a seriously rare survivor, and gives any old Neve I've heard a serious run for its money. If you're looking for analogue summing, that indefinable saturation and vintage character, with the added bonuses of classic Brit EQ and very musical limiting before everything goes into the digital realm, this gives you all that magic in spades.

The power lead is hardwired, terminated in a UK plug.

I think only 2 or 3 of the 10 originally built are known to have survived, the only ones that I can definitely find on record being this one and the one featured in 2 videos on Teds 'TFPro' website, where another Itam 10/4 is taken to him for servicing in 2019. He reveals much about the history and importance of this rare model, just google 'Ted Fletcher Itam' and it should be near the top, or message me if you can't find it.

Collection only, for obvious reasons. I'm more than happy to drive an hour to deliver in person or meet up to reduce your trip, no charge, just to ensure it gets safely into your hands. I know it's not the crown jewels or anything, but it would literally be impossible to replace it if lost or damaged in transit, so not worth the risk.

Cheers!
