About This Listing

When you pick-up and play this super cool vintage Kalamazoo KG-11 guitar, you feel like Robert Johnson !

It's a light weight and responsive guitar with tons of mojo !

Although it’s not officially a Gibson, the KG-11 is undeniably Gibson-like. It for sure has the dusty dryness of a prewar Gibson. Other similarities are a pronounced headstock thickness taper, the fire stripe pickguard , the rectangular RW bridge and the darkly shaded top which are all company characteristics, and the three-on-a-plate tuners look the same as those found on Gibsons of the era.

Overall condition is very good

The guitar has had a neck reset so the action and playability are very good. The neck has a soft and comfortable V shape. Nut width is 45 mm.

Straight mahogany neck topped with a rosewood fretboard with pearl dot inlays on frets 5,7,9,12. Scale length is 14,75 inch.

Crack-free spruce top with a vibrant sunburst finish.

The finish is all original

3 ply binding around the sound hole

Mahogany back and sides with a few professionally treated (cleated) cracks

Gorgeous and original fire stripe pick guard

Original rectangular rosewood bridge with a newer saddle and black bridge pins

Travels in a cute Gibson hard shell case in excellent condition.
