Here's an awesome Les Paul Traditional made in 2010 (the serial is blurry on purpose) signed by Mr Gary Rossington (Lynyrd Skynyrd). It's pretty close to a 59 Les Paul thanks to the mods on her.
About her:
This incredible Les Paul feels like a '59 model. It "feels" like a 59 but it is very different from a VOS R9 as much as a VOS R9 is way different from a 1959 Les Paul ;-)
Mods:
- ABR-1 bridge (looks naturally aged) without adapting posts (a nice professional work)
- Jack plug cover in plastic cream (not steel as regular Traditional Les Pauls)
- Blank truss rod cover
- Vintage Seymour Duncan Seth Lover pickups (also seem naturally aged), model SH-55 and older than the guitar, my guess is late 90s. These are warmer than 57 Classic pickups with a little less punch but a little more vintage vibe.
- Nice vintage PIO caps
- Sweet hat knobs with vintage pointers
Besides these mods, then the Traditional specs:
- Heavy, solid, two pieces Grande A mahogany body with 9 holes for classic weight relief (Gibson doing that since c. 1983)
- Flamed maple top
- Chunky rounded 50's neck
- Rosewood fingerboard
- Pearloid Gibson logo
- Classic Kluson tuners
Comes with the original black Gibson hardshell case, white inside, and all the paperwork.
What makes her special?
No doubt: It's like holding your own Bernice, the 1959 Les Paul that Gary Rossington owned and used to record the greatest Southern Rock anthems ever. He named it after his mother, Bernice. The original Bernice is nowadays displayed at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, Cleveland, OH.
The pickguard, signed by Mr Rossington back in 2009, minutes after the last Billy Powell’s ever show. It is covered by some kind of varnish to protect the signature.
Dings or Chips?
Typical belt buckle marks on the back.
I'd rather not shipping it but it is what it is. The shipping cost ain’t cheap when insured
Keep in mind I'd be happy to prepare a nice and safe package and the buyer arranges some forwarding company to pick it up. And saves some bucks.
Customs duties and import taxes or similar are a buyer's responsibility.
Feel free to ask me about anything.
Thanks for looking!!
