I believe this to be a 1977 model, though I bought it used. The guitar dater project reports, for its serial number, that it was made at the Fullerton Plant (Fender - CBS Era), USA in 1977 - 1978.
It now has a natural finish, which I guess is not original but looks nice and is very smooth. The pickups were replaced for Van Zandt before I got it, and sound great. Very low action and nice tremolo tension.
