This Preamp was designed specifically to use with the Slate Digital ML-1 Microphone. It was designed by Paul Wolff (API, Tonelux) to be clean and linear thus allowing the software to emulate the microphones intended with the most accuracy.
It was manufactured in California (stated on the casing itself) and discontinued a few years ago. This particular unit came from a ML-1 Vintage Edition set.
It is however, a great and unique preamp to use for other applications as well such as bass, guitar, etc.
Complete your ML-1 set or invest in an inexpensive yet unique American made preamp... or both.
Cosmetically, this unit is almost mint.
