The 1960's were an experimental time, and that meant many never-before seen models, like the Daimaru 811.

This baby is produced using many of the tried and true techniques of the 60's, including VINTAGE Single Coil Sound, Zero-Fret engineering, full binding on neck, 2 volume & 1 tone knobs, slick & smooth string action, glorious vintage tortoise shell, and top-loaded tremolo (missing trem arm).

The Daimaru isn't a player's guitar. She was fashioned and distributed as a beginner's instrument, and is lacking what a pro player desires from the market. However, they just don't build them like they used to!

This guitar is a real easy-playing beginner machine! The guitar has smooth edges and clean sound, especially when trying to learn folk tunes, Beach Boys, or Beatles songs from the 60's - PERFECT!

The tuners hold well, but not with tremolo, which is probably why the Tremolo arm is long gone. The strings can bounce out of the saddle too, if played too hard. Lastly, there is no way to fine-tune intonation without major surgery &/or installing a string-guide - like the one Fender makes for the Jaguar, Jazzmaster, and Mustang models. However, this is still plenty suitable for beginners!

This particular Daimaru Model 811 shows play wear and 60 years worth of practice, albeit mostly from beginners. Guitar shows pick marks on the pickguard, marks here and there, and a snapped tip on the pickguard (pick storage gone wrong), but there are no cracks nor other abusive marks on the wood. She plays and sounds just as an old Japan Craft should.

Adding to it's 60's charm is the unique Double-Cut body, 6-in-line headstock, and easy Truss Rod access (the 60's were experimental, but they were learning fast!). Currently strung with Vintage Flat-Wound strings - they just don't build them like this anymore!
