1986 Fender Stratocaster 1957 American Vintage Re-Issue Two Tone Sunburst
This is a superb example of a very early 1957 AVRI from the Corona factory.

These early AVRI apparently made from many of the original Fullerton factory parts and were showcase instruments, a return to Fenders core values, and built to a very high standard. They appealed to the more affluent Fender player who desired a Strat that was made in line with Leo Fenders pre-CBS originals and they proved very popular.

Our example is 100% original and in excellent condition, and it even has the factory-fitted 3-Way selector, as well as the unused additional 5-way which is still in the case! Along with all the other paperwork that came with these guitars. As it was part of a very large collection it has only been used occasionally and it represents a great investment opportunity.

Fender returned to the use of Nitrocellulose lacquer on this series, and this 37-year-old example has aged beautifully, accenting the grain it has a vibrant rich, and unfaded sunburst finish as it has spent most of its life in its original Fender tweed case.

The body contours and neck profile all hark back to the original 57 Stratocasters. The weight of this guitar is in line with Fenders of old at 7.68Lb

These Strats have a 7.25" radius and the weight is in line with pre-CBS Starts at just 7.68Lb. As we have found with many of these guitars that we have had here in the past it has a lovely "acoustic" chime when played unamplified, always a sign of a great guitar.
