This is a Vintage survivor, a 1965 Gibson Firebird III Non Reverse. The looks and playability of this guitar is absolutely awesome and is a great collector as well as player.
It appears to be all original outside of one truss rod cover screw that I had to add. The pickups are original and the wiring all looks to new to be original but are! They date to 1965. The pickups all function and the neck pickup in particular is so sweet sounding. The three way switch are neck, mid and bridge and bridge only. Pots are not scratchy and ready to go.
The body is also in great condition with no breaks to the neck and doesn't appear to have had a heel repair either. The truss rod is fully functioning although it looks like the half circle washer behind the truss rod nut turned up and may have pushed up the fretboard/nut. The fretboard was starting to seperate but it has been clamped and glued and is good to go. 1-9/16" nut width. There is some light nicks here and there but nothing major and some checking in the finish that you would expect. All in all very good for almost 60 years old.
The case also is original and appears almost too good to be original. No abnormal smells or smoke damage.
