Historic unit - Previously owned by Paul White, the actual co-designer of the Oberheim DX! This was apparently his personal baby and has been fully overhauled and modified by him. Further cleaned and refurbished (debugged and fixed a few tactile buttons) here at JML STUDIOS Aug 2023.

Have you ever seen a completely recapped and serviced Oberheim DX from head to toe? Me neither. While all these 1500-$2500 units are just one 45 year old capacitor away from catastrophic failure, this one has been gutted and totally overhauled from the ground up by the best in the biz. This one even has super rare factory midi and walnut sides installed by Paul White himself AT the factory.

Fully Serviced by Paul's company called Electrongate. Everything has been addressed, including the tactile buttons which all work like new as well as the sliders. This unit is also filled to capacity with professional rhythms, full song patterns and beats (all of which can be erased with the push of the erase button if you like, of course). I'm leaving them on there cause they rock... and they're a part of the history of the unit.

All components have been totally upgraded to perform to spec or above spec. Much of the old brittle wiring has also been upgraded by Paul with silver wiring as you can see. All the pads and buttons trigger flawlessly and it’s basically a brand new unit inside. This model has the smaller telephone keypad buttons of the more recent edition. I've owned the older clunky big buttons but this is easier to use imo.

I've owned a few of these and there seems to be an additional PCB I have not seen before too which was installed in 2006. I’m not even really sure what it does to be quite honest. All I know is that I've owned a bunch of these and this one is by far the cleanest I’ve ever seen. I’m also going to include quick release Tom screws for the front lid (shown in pics). A lot of guys add these to the front because the whole top is on a single hinge like a door for servicing. If you have any questions, please ask. Comes with IEC power, cable .

Ask about my massive drum library of WAV files from every iconic drum machine ever made. If you own an eprom programmer, you can install any sound into this machine and make this a Linn drum machine or Roland 808 just by swapping the eproms.
