Elkhart Conn brass cornet serial number 888535, which should mean manufacture in 1961.  Ugly as sin, but plays heavenly, and seems to have good compression.  Many small dents, scratches, and some corrosion, but no signs of red rot.  All caps and slides move freely, and valves rebound nicely.Comes with Vincent Bach 7c mouthpiece, which is functional but not pretty – looks like someone tried to remove with pliers (sigh!) and some plating loss, and some nicks; yet entirely functional.  Also includes a Conn case which is worn but solid, with operation locks; inside clean and not too tatty.  Give yourself a nostalgia kick and return to the golden days of Middle or Jr. High band or give to a budding musician for a first instrument that you don’t have to worry about damaging with this solid as a brick and built like a tank Conn.  Made in USA and made much better than the cheap imported instruments for sale today.
