IBANEZ Multi Effect unit built in to a Rock-n-Play Cassette deck (Not Working) Distortion Overdrive Chorus

Though listed POOR shape, this does have some function as now described:

IBANEZ RP-100 cassette deck (not working) with Effects AS IS NO RETURNS.

YOU CAN USE THIS FOR CHORUS AND DISTORTION with the right hookup.

Ibanez Rock-n-Play Cassette deck with pitch adjust & built in effects. This unit has not been used in quite some time as a cassette deck, and it's currently Not working AS A CASSETTE PLAYER. It was 25 years ago. Oh well. I have owned it probably 25 to 30 years.

I did more recently, like a few years back, use this as the effect for a guitar track on a song of mine. I ran into it, and out mini "direct out" plug to stereo in 2 channels of my HD24, and got some quite interesting results.

So that was a few years now, which might mean 7 give or take, so I don't remember the song. SO, I HOOKED IT UP AGAIN just now 6-18-2023 and took a video I'll post here at this listing at some point. At first, I thought it was shot because of a huge buzzing noise, but ends up that has something to do with the cassette volume. Instrument volume up and cassette down (when I get it to stay in place) makes this a really cool sounding effects unit with chorus and distortion.

CHORUS is limited to 2 settings sort of like the scholtz rockman was. Also in the video just is not done because it's not true stereo as the 2 outputs are plugged into a bass amp that is mono.

DISTORTION is also just 2 set levels but a cool sound none the less. What was that well known distortion overdrive that Ibanez made??? Hmmmmmm. Not saying this is that, but it's a cool unique sound in my opinion. Tube Screamer with no external control? Anything is possible.

I tried this with batteries and with a zoom 9 volt power supply. It works from the line out and the phones out, but again that NOISE FROM THE CASSETTE DECK has to be turned off and it's not easy. I can turn it to zero and the noise is STILL THERE but I can wiggle and woggle some and get it to stay on working the effects without that hideous noise. Good things don't come easy right?

Note again this is sold AS IS as seen and as heard in the video, no warranty stated or implied. It is sort of working as far as effects, and you can plug guitar in and use the lines out for some cool effects, once you get past old scratchy pots applying finicky efforts to succeed.
