Takamine CTP2 Cool Tube Preamp

The Takamine Cooltube is the first and only on-board tube preamp for acoustic guitar Cooltube CTP2   The Takamine Cooltube is the first and only on-board tube preamp for acoustic guitar. Featuring a 12AU7 (ECC82) valve, it delivers a warm, rich harmonic tone available from no other preamp. Furthermore, due to the unique low voltage circuit designed by Takamine, the tube does not glow or radiate high levels of heat which could damage the tone woods of the guitar.   Powered by 4 AA batteries, the Cooltube preamp features 3 band shelving EQ, a built in chromatic tuner, and an auxiliary input with blend control for adding a secondary pickup such as the Tri-Ax®   This new version, the CTP-2, differs from its predecessor, the CTP-1, in the following ways;  

• Lower noise
• Quicker tube warm up time
• An independent on/off switch on the back of the pick up
• No ‘volume swell’ when increasing the tube level on the preamp
