Tonal Evaluation
This phenomenal vitnage Gretsch has superb balance, and it boasts room-filling unamplified resonance. When you do plug in, you are rewarded with vast, broad midrange and powerful rock and roll punch.
Condition of Instrument
This 1954 Duo Jet has some light overspray on the back of the neck and by the bridge. It is likely that a previous owner had the neck oversprayed to prevent it from receiving any more play wear. The overspray on the top was likely a repair from when the bridge moved scratched the finish. All this finish work took place some time ago. When we put the guitar under the blacklight, the overspray was yellow in color like the original lacquer. A previous owner added a Bigbsby, and another owner put the original G tailpiece put back on, leaving a couple of holes where the vibrato unit sat on the top.
Musical instruments made from certain types of wood may be restricted for export from the U.S. under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). Due to this restriction, we are unable to ship instruments containing Brazilian rosewood outside of the US. Please contact us for more information or to make alternate shipping arrangements.
