2016 Collings City Limits Goldtop with Original Hardshell Case

Summary: The Collings City Limits Goldtop is a Les Paul-inspired, lightweight rocker that's built for tone and playability. Built with a Mahogany body and a premium Maple top, it has a Mahogany, Medium-Fat C-shaped neck, and a Rosewood fingerboard with a 12" radius. The scale is 24 7/8" long and the bone nut is a nice 1 11/16" wide. A really nice player, it has a carefully hand-set mortise and tenon neck joint for added tonal complexity and sustain.

Body: Mahogany body with Premium Maple top, grained Ivoroid binding, and high gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish.

Neck: Mahogany neck with a medium-fat C-shaped neck and a rosewood fingerboard. This instrument has a 12” radius with a scale length of 24 7/8” and a nut width of 1 11/16”. This Collings features medium 18% nickel-silver frets and Mother-of-Pearl dot inlays. This instrument has a bone nut.

Pickups/Hardware: Tonepros AVR-II bridge and tailpiece, Nickel Gotoh SG301 tuners with vintage-style buttons and 1:18 ratio. The pickups are DiMarzio PAF ‘59s (replaced by the previous owner).

Cosmetics: Overall this guitar is in very good shape but there are a few imperfections that I found while holding the guitar up close. There are a few small dings – one particular ding on the top and a few on the back. These dings are hard to spot in photos….. The headstock shows some visible wear with some light scratches & a small scratch on the back of the headstock.

Mods / Repairs: The pickups have been replaced with DiMarzio PAF ‘59s.

Playability: This instrument plays great – the action is low & the instrument plays without any buzz or dead spots.
