Vintage Tabla Drums from India, similar to Bongo drums. The two drums are earthenware pottery and painted red with gold striped patterns. The tops are animal skin rawhide and elaborately tied to the top by a series of thick cotton strings and silver metal rings. The tops are taut and secure and one sounds a little deeper than the other. The tops do show use, one more than the other.
Traditionally the right drum Bayan) is smaller than the left side (Dayan), but these are almost exactly the same size.
The drums measure 9" in diameter from the top, 9" tall sitting on the rings and approx 8" without the rings. The rings are 8 1/2" in diameter.
