Pimentel and Sons was established in 1951 by Lorenzo Pimentel. His sons Rick, Robert, Victor and Agustin — all master craftsmen — have carried on the tradition.
Based in Albuquerque, NM, the Pimentel family has been making finely crafted handmade guitars since their beginning. This very responsive and beautiful guitar was built by Lorenzo for a pro guitarist in NY in 1995.
Very lively, with excellent tone, and plays fantastically. In addition to his craft, Lorenzo was also well reputed as a supreme tone-wood tapper, and consistently selected the very finest woods for his instruments. This guitar is no exception. Beautiful in both appearance and voice...this one will make you a happy player.
Spruce over Brazilian, ebony board, 2" nut
There is a hairline crack from the bridge down to the bottom that I repaired when I acquired it in 1999, and a chip in the top that happened on my watch. See photos. There are various minor marks that are essentially unnoticeable.
