Ceramic disc capacitors are a fixed value capacitor utilizing ceramic material as the dielectric and a metal layer as the electrode. These types of capacitors became popular in vintage tremolo circuits as they were not part of the signal path. Orange Drop capacitors are often used as an upgrade to the cheaper ceramic disc capacitors.
