Beautiful 1996 Wal MK3 6 string bass. "Shedua" facings, mahogany core, Indian Ebony fretboard.

I bought this bass several months ago, as I'm a big fan of Wal basses (I have a fretless/4 MK1) and wanted to try a 6 string. The person I bought it from noted in the listing that he thought there may be an issue with the truss rod. This was just a hunch on his part, as there were extremely small splits in the wood on the top of the fret board and back of the neck. When I received the bass, indeed the action was a bit high, but the bass was playable. When I tried using the truss rod, it moved freely as far as I could tell. The next thing I did, was bring it to a local luthier in kalamazoo, MI with a great reputation, called "Kal Tone". They assessed the bass and in they're opinion, there wasn't a problem with the truss rod that they could tell, as it moved freely and did it's job. The truss rod nut is slightly more recessed than my other Wal, but that will vary from bass to bass and of course this is a 6 string. They couldn't tell what may have caused the stress in the wood, but determined that the bass would probably function properly with a proper setup. So, they did a setup and touched up and filled the tiny splits. Now the bass plays like a dream and sounds awesome. Any stress in the wood is undetectable. I have decided that 6 strings isn't my thing, so I am listing it for sale here. I wanted to explain all these details as full disclosure. This is quite a bass. One of the first Wal 6 string basses they made and the tone is freaking amazing. To order one new from them would probably take 2 years and 8+k. I believe that the price I am asking is quite a bargain and a wonderful opportunity for someone wanting one of these. If you have questions, please ask. The bass is described to the best of my ability. I am selling this bass as described and as is.

Bass weighs 11 pounds and 4 ounces.
Comes with a British made Hiscox case.
Thanks.
