Up for sale is a very rare Oberheim OB3 Drawbar Module. This is a really neat little piece of gear that I swore I would use and become a good B3 player...alas I am still trash. This thing, however, is not! I bought it because I saw Steve Conn using one on stage in Nashville and was really impressed. From what I understand, this is a weird little an analog synth. Every drawbar is essentially an oscillator and it honestly does a pretty convincing B3 sound. The built in distortion and rotary sim are of the era, but in a pinch work great. Sending this through a Ventilator or even a Lester K really brings it to life. It sits great in a mix! I've been using it hooked up via midi to an Organelle and using it as a weird sequenced robot organ. It's pretty fun!
But why am I selling? Well for one, I undershot my income this year and Uncle Sam would like his money back. And as previously mentioned, I SUCK at organ and while it's a fun trick, the robot organ sound isn't enough for me to justify keeping this out of capable hands.
ISSUES:
There aren't any serious ones! The pictures provided are a great representation of the condition. A few scuffs here or there but otherwise well cared for.
I bought this probably four or five years ago on the bay as/is and untested and lucked out. That being said, some of the buttons are a little sticky and sometimes require one or two presses for them to fully engage.
Some of the pots are a little scratchy which is typical for something of this age.
