Amplifier Details
Model: Marshall JMP 1992 Super Bass (1968/69)
Originality: Until April 2024, all original components and circuitry except for Bulgin mains socket replaced with IEC in the 1990s for safety and compliance. In April 2024, R&CC carried out sensitive replacements and upgrades to ensure optimal performance and long-term reliability.
Latest service (Apr 2024):
- Conducted by Marshall Amplification
- Mains and screen filter capacitors replaced with ARS equivalents (Marshall 1959HW stock cans)
- Phase inverter filter cap upgraded from 32uF to 50uF ARS can
- Bias trim pot added for precise valve bias adjustment
- Indicator lamp barrel repaired by R&CC; knob replaced where cap was missing
Valves: Tested on AVO VCM MKIII, all meet or exceed original test book specs.
Cabinet Details
Model: Marshall 1935B (Basketweave fret cloth, near mint condition):
Originality: Barely used since 1969, stored carefully under original vinyl cover. Castors not present. Two speakers are not stock to this cab and predate it by a year.
Loaded with:
- 2 x 1968 Celestion T1511 speakers with Pulsonic cones (unbroken-in).
- 2 x 1967 Celestion T1281 speakers with Pulsonic cones (G12M labels, likely from the original stock T1511s).
R&CC servicing includes:
- Internal cleaning of one T1281 to correct voice coil rub.
- Where spiders were lifting on two T1511s: removal of spider adhesive, re-centering cones, re-gluing spiders and dust caps for optimal performance.
Model: Marshall 1935 Cabinet (well-used gig cabinet):
Originality: Vinyl cover not present. Castors not present. Shows wear consistent with heavy gig use (vinyl missing on rear panel & base).
Loaded with:
- 4 x 1968 Celestion T1511 speakers with Pulsonic cones
R&CC servicing includes:
- Internal cleaning of one T1511 to correct voice coil rub.

- An image of Maxwell's in 1969 is included in the photos and is the gabled building appearing to the right of the image. The stack was set up inside the doorway. The building is no longer there.
