This violin was made in Germany, modeled after the famous “Stradivarius” design (as most modern violins are.) It was used and loved for many years. It features a spruce top and maple back and sides, ebony tailpiece with individual fine tuners, ebony chin rest, and ebony pegs. It has been appraised (virtually, via pictures) by Baroque Violin Shop in Cincinnati Ohio (see picture with email confirmation.) As with most violins of this age, it features some small cracks from wear and tear around the F-holes. Those are not detrimental to the overall structural integrity of the instrument and can be fixed fairly easily at any reputable luthier shop. It also comes with a case (most likely original) and three bows. All three bows are in poor condition, but selling them all with the instrument so that it all goes as one lot.
Baroque Violin Shop quoted replacement value at $1,800-$2,000, listing here for $1,000 in hopes that it finds a good home where it will get played and used by someone for many more years to come.
