This is a custom made guitar modeled after Tab Benoit's (google him) 70's Thinline Tele. I built this guitar from a kit. The guitar is new, but has been aged and relic'd to look old and feel like a well loved vintage guitar.
The wood is nice quality ash and maple. I use 100% genuine nitro-cellulose lacquer for resonance.
This is being sold as a project. The pickups and pots are not wired. I figured someone would want to upgrade them so I didn't bother to wire them. The pots,3wayswitch,&pickups are included, but I make no guarantee if they work or how they will sound. They are just generic pups. The tuners need upgrading too...
Basically, add your own electronics and tuners and you will have one hell of a cool axe!
This is a custom made guitar. It is not an actual Fender, but don't let that stop you.
It beats the hell out of the basswood, polyester coated Squires...
P.S. I've gotten many questions about the neck so here are some more specs..
he neck is not an actual Fender. It is from Canada, as well as the body, using all quality North American wood.
I believe this is considered a chunky c shape. It is a fat neck that fits nicely in the hand. The edge of the fretboard has been hand rolled for a nice worn in feel with no sharp frets. The radius is pretty flat, perhaps an 11 inch radius but I'm not sure. These are supposedly easier for bending and leading.
The guitar weighs in just around 7 lbs on a crude bathroom scale..
