I'm selling this SUPER RARE Fender blacktop precision bass. It's been tricked up with some nice GOTOH black hardware, replacing the bendy standard chrome nonsense that Fender sent it out with back in the day.

This is one for the Metal Militia!

Super dark looking and hotter than hell!!OK, some specs...Mexican made, from the 60th anniversary deluxe range (2005)

Alder bodyMaple neck with rosewood finger board. Pearloid block inlaysStock  Michael Frank-Braun designed humbucking pickupGlockenklang 2-Band active EQ, with bypass. Currently powered by 2x9v batts for more oooooomph, but perfectly happy running on just one.Switchable Parallel/Series/Single coil. The original was just a coil selector, which was a bit meh. Works in passive as well as active mode.Gotoh B404 bridge in cosmo blackGotoh Machine heads in cosmo blackGotoh String tree in........... cosmo blackCustom "Anarchy" neck plate, in blackGraphtech TUSQ nut in............................ black!Everything is so black!!Currently loaded with very little used Rotosound RS66L 50-110s...Cool, so somethings to note...The bass is 18 years old, so has a few blemishes:/There were small chips on the control plate, which have been sharpie-d. Only noticeable if you look hard. The original pre-amp fried itself, hence the GlockenKlang replacement. There is no difference in volume between active and passive with the bass and treble both centred. I've found that with the EQ in, it is a bit hissy through my BOSS MB50 using headphones. When using a amp. I don't hear it at all, so likely just my effects pedal. Worth mentioning though, in the interests of transparency. As mentioned above, the nut is new. The string action is currently at 5/32" over the 17th fret, the standard height for bass. There's a little room left in the bridge, but I reckon you'd be able to get it super low by shaving the nut a little.... if you wanted to.Anyways... Given the Passive/Active/Parallel/Series/Single coil set up, the range of tones on this bass are infinite, but you should note that it does not sound like your average P-Bass.

The sound is closer to an MM, or G&L L-1000, and whilst in series mode, this thing kicks serious butt!!

Super powerful, full sounding.
